Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils. It was introduced in 2011 and is allocated to: children who are looked after by the local authority; children who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years; and children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.
