Lolly Stick Angels

A lovely tree decoration to try with your children.

Lolly Stick Angels

What you need:

  • 3 lolly sticks
  • White feathers
  • Gold/silver card
  • White Pipe cleaner
  • Tinsel
  • Ribbon
  • Black fine tip pen
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Gold paint

 How to make:

  1. First, paint 3 lolly sticks gold.
  2. Once dry, create a triangle using the lolly sticks and stick in place using glue or double sided sticky tape.
  3. Next, place the triangle on top of a piece of gold card and draw around with a pen. Then cut out and stick onto the back of the triangle.
  4. Get 2 white feathers and stick them on the back to create the wings.
  5. Cut a head out of the card and draw a face onto the white side. Stick this at the top of the triangle using some glue or tape.
  6. To create the hair, stick a small bit of tinsel above the face.
  7. To create the halo, cut out two 19cm pieces out of a white pipe cleaner. Wrap around 2 of your fingers, using the fingers to create the circle and then twist and fold the twisted piece downwards. Stick this to the back of the face using tape or glue. Make sure the halo is hanging above/over the head.
  8. Finally, cut a piece of ribbon about 15-20cm and stick both ends to the back of the angel to create a loop to hang the decoration onto the tree.

Corrugated Christmas Tree Cards

What you need:

  • A4 card
  • Corrugated card
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Christmas coloured paint
  • Black pen

How to make:

  1. Fold the A4 card in half.
  2. Next, fold a piece of corrugated card in half, draw half a Christmas tree along the folded line and then cut out to create the tree. Or, you can cut out simple triangles.
  3. Paint the trees green and then stick them onto the card.
  4. Using a cotton bud or finger dip into different coloured paint and decorate the trees.
  5. To create the Christmas lights, use a black permanent pen and draw a looping line. Then use your finger to dip into paint and onto the line to create the light effect.

DIY Christmas Decorations

This has been my favourite craft of the year and so lovely for little ones to make too using the pre-made bauble templates from @tts_earlyyears!

  1. The set comes with lots of pre-cut patterned stars and circles to decorate.
  2. All you need to do is pass your little ones the glue stick and let them get creative.
  3. Once finished, thread some ribbon through the holes on the top and hang.
